Global Database Administrator

The role of the Global Database Administrator is part of the team responsible for globally supporting the company’s infrastructure. The main essence of the role is to support and maintain existing platforms through proactive and reactive maintenance, investigation into solution improvements, and new projects.

• Monitor database events and proactively optimize system performance

• Accountable for maintaining database configurations in compliance with established best practices

• Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the database architecture and the general application functionality used to maintain data integrity

• Work with other Product Houses to promote changes to production and other environments

• Work in conjunction with other IT, application development, and business groups to understand functionality, scalability, performance, security, and integration requirements from the database perspective

• Responsible for investigating potential problems and issues raised

• Work with the team to automate reactive procedures where possible, and to promote rapid response to known issues

• Oversee data fixes for business issues or to address application issues

• Conduct growth analysis & capacity planning in cooperation with Development teams and the Support Organization

• Accountability for proper backup and disaster recovery procedures

• Provide off-hours production support

• Other duties as assigned

.What we are looking for:

• Minimum 2 years day to day support knowledge with SQL 

• College Degree or equivalent of 2 years minimum experience

• Expertise in providing in-depth performance tuning for databases

• Good understanding of Windows Server Administration

• Strong experience supporting mission-critical relational databases

• Skilled in shell scripting and automating repetitive administrative tasks

• Microsoft Certificate DBA or Oracle Certified Associate certification is an advantage
• Strong T-SQL and DTS knowledge
• Exceptional troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
• Must have excellent learning abilities and have the ability to use various resources to research issues
• Contact Center and CRM technology support skills and strong customer service experience would be an advantage
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
